JOHN DATSERIS

An entrepreneur from the start, John began his career in 1998 as co-founder of Flypaper Creations, a digital and new media company focused on creating rich media and internet solutions.

Since then, John went on to establish interactive and digital practices for advertising agencies and technology companies; The BrainStorm Group, Capital C Communications, and most recently developed the strategy and solutions practice for Momentum Advanced Solutions / OnX Enterprises.

John’s extensive knowledge of technology and marketing allows him to give companies a better understanding of the digital space – how it is changing, how to leverage it, how to measure it and how to integrate it into their business.

John has provided senior leadership to a number of leading brands in Canada; Corus Entertainment, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, CBC, Kraft, Effem, Pepsi QTG, Unilever, Gillette, Microsoft, XBOX, Plan Canada, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Hoffmann-La Roche, Mazda, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Chrysler, Aviva, Insurance Hunter, Foresters and American Express.

As a member of GNR8R’s leadership team, John works with clients to create contagious, executable ideas that are results focused.

John graduated with Bachelors of Arts from Brock University. He lives with his wife Shelly, their two boys Elias and Charley, and two spoiled yet emotionally unstable cats.

HOWARD OHORI

After six years working client side as Product Manager for Yamaha Motor Canada, Howard’s advertising career began in 1990 at Chiat/Day.

Since that time he has held senior positions as VP Director Client Services to Managing Director for a number of international agencies, TBWA Chiat/Day, Doner Schur Peppler, Palmer Jarvis DDB, Tribal DDB, MacLaren McCann and Momentum Advanced Solutions / Onx Enterprises.

Howard has worked on several Global brands in Canada and USA; General Motors: Pontiac, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Infiniti, Mazda, Chrysler, Honda, Imperial Oil, Rogers Communications (Cable, Wireless, Media), Comark (cleo, Bootlegger, Ricki’s), Johnson & Johnson, AVIVA Insurance, Insurance Hunter, Michelin, Panasonic, Royal Bank, American Express, Wendy’s Restaurants, Bermuda Tourism, Roche – Tamiflu, Janssen Pharmaceutical Products LP and Major League Baseball with The Toronto Blue Jays.

As a member of GNR8R’s leadership team, Howard will continue to do what he has done for his whole career – solving problems for clients by generating new insights, new ideas and new solutions through technology.

Howard graduated with a Bachelors of Economics from McMaster University.  He lives with his wife Sandra and their two teenagers, Dakota and Kiana.  On weekends you can usually find him in an arena in Ontario were he volunteers in the community coaching rep hockey.

Doug was part of the leadership team At Media Buying Services that literally redefined the Canadian agency landscape by pioneering the concept of liberated media planning and buying from traditional agencies. MBS went on to become the largest media company in the country and was eventually acquired by WPP and became known as MediaCom where Doug was the Canadian CEO and then promoted to North American CEO overseeing seven offices and more than $6 billion in annual media spending.

With over 25 years of agency experience, Doug has worked and managed the entire spectrum of agency disciplines from buying to content creation. In addition, he has had the good fortune to work with leading clients in virtually every major segment including; P&G, GlaxoSmithKline, TD/Canada Trust, Subway, Warner Bros., Audi, BMW, Mini, Volkswagen, E*Trade, Pfizer, Discovery Card and Rogers.

Since leaving MediaCom Doug has focused his entrepreneurial spirit on several startups including Qwyrk which brings sound to digital self expression, Nestbuilder.com which is disrupting the market for real estate lead generation in the US, and UnReel Games which offers an innovative new user experience to online slot gaming.

Like Howard, Doug is an Economics graduate from McMaster University.  He lives with his wife Angela and relishes the joys of their adult children William and Kate. When he is not working, Doug can be found riding the Mulmur Hills on his bike or skis.
